This scale, produced in a team of scientists and technicians at the University of California, San Francisco, is a model of recovery in fine motor function in rats, based around both their stereotypical eating methods and their modification in response to injury. The scale is replicable across individuals and laboratories, and includes 1) a method for testing, 2) a scale enumerating the results of the test, 3) a scientific article and 4) a multimedia article used for teaching the method and scale to other scientists and practitioners.
